Traditional Bamboo Whisk for Matcha Tea– the bamboo whisk (chasen) is an essential tool in the Japanese matcha tea ceremony. Handcrafted from a single piece of lightweight bamboo and featuring 100 fine prongs, it ensures a smooth texture and a rich, frothy finish for your favorite matcha drink.
Tips for Preparing the Perfect Cup of Matcha:
– Place 2 scoops (1.5 g) of matcha powder into a matcha bowl.
– Add 100 ml of hot water (heated to 80 °C).
– Whisk vigorously using a W- or M-shaped motion from the wrist. This technique creates an ideal, smooth, and frothy consistency. After about 20 seconds, you should have a vibrant, jade-green foam.
– If desired, add more water to adjust the strength to your taste.
Note: After use, it is recommended to dry the whisk on a dedicated whisk holder (sold separately). Do not store the whisk while wet in closed containers or boxes.
