The curved end of the scoop is designed for picking up a small amount of matcha powder and placing it into a bowl (matchawan). After that, the matcha is whisked using a <strong>bamboo whisk (chasen)<\/strong> until a smooth texture is achieved. The amount of matcha powder can be adjusted according to personal preferences.<br \/>\n<strong>Preparation types:<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Usucha<\/strong> (thin tea) \u2013 Use <strong>1 chashaku<\/strong> (approximately one level scoop) of matcha powder with<strong> 75\u2013100 ml<\/strong> of hot water. This ratio is ideal for creating a rich, frothy layer on top of the drink.<br \/>\n<strong>Koicha<\/strong> (thick tea) \u2013 Made with<strong> 4 to 6 scoops<\/strong> (level chashaku scoops) of matcha powder and about <strong>150 ml<\/strong> of hot water. The result is a thick and sweeter matcha without the characteristic foam.
